Dr. Fawziya Nasser Al-Wahaibi is an accomplished academician, visionary researcher, and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Engineering at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS–Muscat). She holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Brunel University London, where her research focused on pioneering millimeter-wave generation architectures for next-generation wireless communication systems, integrating hybrid optical and free-space transmission technologies.
With over fifteen years of distinguished academic and industry experience, Dr. Fawziya has served in several strategic leadership roles, including Head of the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Section, Head of the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Specialization, and Program Director of ECE. Her leadership has been instrumental in modernizing engineering curricula, advancing national competencies in space technologies, and driving transformative improvements within Oman’s engineering-education ecosystem.
Her research contributions are published in reputable international journals such as Optik and in authoritative Springer volumes on intelligent computing and advanced communication systems. She has represented Oman in prestigious global forums, including the Mobile World Congress (MWC) and international conferences on space, satellite, and telecommunication innovations.
A recognized expert in satellite communications, optical and photonic networks, millimeter-wave technologies, IoT-enabled intelligent architectures, and next-generation telecom system design, Dr. Fawziya also possesses deep technical expertise in simulation platforms such as OptiSystem, OPNET, and MATLAB.
Today, Dr. Fawziya is widely regarded as a forward-thinking leader and influential voice in the global engineering community—shaping future directions in satellite systems, advanced communication networks, and space-technology innovation.
