Jean-Marc ASTORG has four decades of experience in the space sector, having held key positions at the French Space Agency CNES, focusing on project management and strategy. He was particularly responsible for numerous developments that contributed to the success of the Ariane launcher (Ariane 5 and the current Ariane 6) and played a crucial role in the decision to support reusability for future European launchers.Since 2022, he has served as CNES Chief Strategy Officer, contributing to the preparation of the French Space National Strategy unveiled by President Macron in November 2025. Strongly convinced of the unique benefits of space for our planet, he is also a prominent advocate and participant in the Space4Ocean alliance, which was established by CNES and 30 international organizations during the United Ocean Conference in June 2025.Jean-Marc ASTORG will relocate to Abu Dhabi on December 25 to take up a new position as Advisor to CNES CEO.
