Engineer from École Centrale de Paris (class of 1985), holder of a PHD in business management from Paris Dauphine University.
He began his career at IBM.
In 2000, he founded Nexeya, an electronic equipment manufacturer, with two partners.
In June 2019, he created Hemeria, which took over Nexeya's sovereign assets (defence and space). Nexeya was sold to the German group Hensoldt in October 2019.
In June 2022, he created Blue Water Intelligence, a start-up that provides water resource management services based on spatial data.
Philippe Gautier is married with four children and is a Knight of the National Order of Merit and the Legion of Honour.
Within GIFAS (Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales), he is a director and chairman of the StartAir start-up club. He is also board member of various tech companies.
